Here I am again, transiting in Singapore Airport, on my way to a much bigger island this time.. Australia! I'd be well tempted to go and visit the cactus garden, but got too little time ahead. I should precise that the butterfly garden nearly made me miss my flight a couple of weeks back. Having a few spare hours to kill I indeed decided to go sightseeing across the different terminals of the airport. So I was pacing up and down the big open spaces, quite chillingly I must say, enjoying the free internet access, taking thousands of pics of the butterflies in the tropical garden.... All of a sudden, a dreadful doubt got hold of me... I couldnt remember changing the time of my watch and as far as I could remember, Singapore was H-1 with HoChiMinh..... Ohhhh...... I ran to the departure boards of terminal 3 just to find out that my nightmare had turned into reality... My plane was indeed leaving from T2 and also "Gate Closing"!!! A quick ride on the Skytrain brought me to T2. I had been running hectically for ages (at least thats what I felt!) and I was nearing the boarding gate when an hostess spotted me, ran to me and asked :"Miss Thomas??". YYEEEESSSS!!! I said totally out of breath! The plane was only waiting for me to take off!!!

Sian has had the same experience of nearly missing the plane when she was doing a familiarisation flight in the cockpit with the pilots. She had by law to disembark, in order to get back on the same plane for the return fight, but the was hardly enough time to complete all the formalities. Just to let you know that the funeral service for your cousin Claire was very well attended and Luke and Leah were very dignified. Nigel conducted it brilliantly and gave a very fitting tribute to his sister. The service was full with about 70-80 people (as my estimate). Enjoy Brisbane - it is a super city. Go for a walk along the river and swim in the long open air beach pool alongside the river.<br /> Love, A Gwen
